Newport Flower Show Trip

The weather forecast for Thursday was not good but the front stalled and we had sunny skies and temperatures in the 70’s. Our first stop was Blithewold House, the day ended on the covered veranda for afternoon tea.  Dinner was on our own. Friday began with breakfast at the hotel which was followed by a trip to Green Animals, a wonderful topiary garden with beautiful flower gardens as well as vegetable gardens it was noted that without mulch the gardens were without weeds. We toured the house and gardens on our own and then went on to Rosecliff for the flower show. The setting was magnificent, the entries beautiful and the weather was, once again, perfect.

Annual Flower Show

This was our first year with a smaller flower show.  We had some lovely entries which are always expected. We held it on a Monday instead of a weekend day and attendance was lower.  Moving forward we will review and make decisions as to how we will proceed.

Annual Plant Sale

The weather was perfect, the people were lined up for the start and the plants were lovely.  Thanks to the club members who worked so hard to make this happen.
