Barbara Fischer from the Native Plant Center at Westchester Community College presented Incorporating Natives into the Garden. Ms. Fisher detailed the benefits of native plants to our environment and highlighted some excellent examples of plants to be used in our own gardens.

Garden Club members Betty P, Betty G, Dorothy K and Celia J along with Lynn S (from Hopper House) weeded, pruned and planted at the Hopper House Garden. We were rewarded with a beautiful day and a lovely springtime view of golden daffodils.

Chris S presented an informative hands on program about Practical Gardening Techniques. She generously invited club members to her garden where she showed us where and how to prune and divide. Fortunately we had a lovely spring day and everyone enjoyed and learned from her excellent demonstration. She inspired us to prune and divide in our own gardens and get ready for the coming season.
Buttterfly Garden Clean-up – Monday, April 6, 2015

About a dozen Garden Club members turned out to clean-up the Butterfly Garden to get it ready for the growing season. They weeded, trimmed, cleaned plant litter and did assorted other necessary tasks. Thank you to all that were able to lend a hand.
