Ed Bonci’s Dahlia Program

We enjoyed Ed Bonci’s Dahlia Program on Sept. 16, 2008
Here’s a review by Celia Juris

Ed Bonci, Master Gardener and Dahlia judge is passionate about Dahlias. This was evident in his lecture which was both informative and entertaining. Ed utilized a power point presentation complete with beautiful photographs which took us from the history of the Dahlia on to the types and classification of Dahlias.  He went on to describe the anatomy of the tuber and gave us a “how to” on the selection, planting and nurturing of the plant as well as the storage of the tuber. Ed brought exquisite samples of various types and sizes of blooms from his garden. For those of us who have never grown Dahlias, we left the program informed, inspired and fully prepared to add this beautiful plant to own garden.
